Provincial In-reach Education, Support and Advocacy

Description

The Provincial In-reach Education, Support and Advocacy program provides harm reduction, HIV and Hep-C education and support to prisoners in Ontario’s provincial institutions. 

Through this program, we provide: 

  • HIV and Hep C education education and resources 
  • Pre- and post-release support for people living with HIV and/or Hep C
  • Community-specific connections to health, social services, housing and income support
  • Education and support around health, well-being and harm-reduction issues

We connect with prisoners over the phone, in person, and in workshop settings. Phone support is provided through our toll-free number to people across Ontario and prison-based programs are offered at the Toronto South Detention Centre, Metro East Detention Centre, Maplehurst Detention Centre, and Hamilton Detention Centre.
